Living Arrows In The Garden & By The Sea

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” by Kahlil Gibran

It’s been another crazy busy week here. Between the girls, exercising the dogs, clearing the garage to turn it into a playroom and packing half the house into boxes, I’ve barely been on here again. Annoying, but I’m learning to accept that, for the time being at least, my little slice of the internet isn’t going to be quite what I had planned. We’ve managed to get out to play in the garden for the first time in ages, walked along the beach and enjoyed some quality time as a family together amongst all the mayhem and chaos. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of all the ‘pretty bits’ of our week BUT I actually love the photos that I did manage to take because I want to remember these silly moments full of massive love.

The first photos I have included are of a special little moment that I caught whilst I was pinned to the bed feeding Baby F. Mr WMD and Little M were playing hairdressers. Excuse the mess and boxers in the background, and the Christmas bedding (the rest of our bedding is packed as I thought we were moving in January).

Walked in on this cute moment…

We had another car picnic this weekend. Mr WMD and I had been contemplating treating ourselves to pizza from a delicious new Italian not far from home, but then thought better of it – we’re saving for the new house, plus our waistlines need some attention before bikini weather is upon us AND we’d already had a late lunch of fish and chips, followed by the most enormous ice cream on the beach! However, fate played it’s hand (the girls fell asleep in the car at an absolutely disastrous time and we didn’t fancy dealing with waking them up) so we ended up driving to a secluded beauty spot overlooking the sea and tucked in. Being the naughty piggies that we are, we ended up getting two pizzas and stuffed, took one of them home to continue a little pizza party at home on the sofa. Little M was wide awake at this point so we ended up watching Stick Man with her snuggling under the blankets on the sofa and filling our faces with pizza until we all went to bed – early for us, late for the girls. Shocking parenting and even worse eating habits but it was a treat and to be honest it was so lovely all giggling and snuggling under the ‘blanko’, taking bites from the slices in turns. The photos are terrible but it’s a memory that I want to cherish forever; a beautiful little moment shared by the four of us.

We did manage to burn off some of our calories with a nice walk on Sunday and Little M enjoyed ‘fishing’ in the river and ‘feeding’ the ponies on the farm.

I hope you all had a lovely week too.

Thank you for reading! I look forward to catching with your #LivingArrows either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

Until next week,

Living Arrows is a weekly linky, hosted by the fabulous Donna from What The Redhead Said, celebrating childhood. The project originally took its name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”. Every Monday we will share a photo/photos from the previous week that capture a moment of childhood.   If you’ve enjoyed reading this post, we’d love for you to follow our adventures on our social media channels or become part of our family at
